About the event

None of us were to know when staring at a series of mysterious pots high up in the cloud forest of Makarapan Mountain in Guyana that this was going to spark an adventure - the idea of which had been kindled decades before.

An adventure that would follow in the footsteps of pioneering Geologist-Explorers & Indigenous Patamona Guides and follow in the footsteps of a perhaps more ancient people who's only record is to be found in mysterious cave drawings under the rainforest canopy of the Pakaraima Mountains.

The expeditions' final aim - to measure a Waterfall. A 'Melu' as it is known in the Patamona language. A measurement that as it would turn out, would pale in significance to the true wonders rediscovered.

From Petroglyphs to Flying Boats, to Tepuis & The British Geological Society - A Waterfall awaits at the end of a journey fiction couldn't write in the jungle of the 'Sky People'.

Joe Trevorrow is a Jungle Expedition Leader for The Wild Tales - which pioneers indigenous-led adventure tourism deep in the remote jungles of Guyana, South America.

With a longing for adventure from an early age, Joe Trevorrow realised his passion for exploring the remote corners of the planet through the Royal Navy and through becoming a Mountain Leader often on frozen slopes both near and far from home in the UK.

He has since swapped a sea of blue for one of green leading expeditions in the mighty Amazon Rainforest with The Wild Tales owner Anders Anderson & a team of incredible Amerindians.

With many expeditions already successfully completed, 2027 looks to be the most ambitious year yet in some of the worlds most pristine and remote jungle.
